Lorna Silcock, a 33-year-old mum of five, dragged teaching assistant Kayleigh Rutherford to the ground in a public park before pulling clumps of her hair out, headbutting her, and repeatedly punching and kicking her. The attack, which happened last April 10, led to Miss Rutherford suffering concussion, bruising to her face, and a broken finger which needed to be reset and required hand therapy. Silcock's friend Atlanta Hewitt, 30, also joined in with the attack, shouting in their victim's face and kicking her in the shoulder and side. The violent attack happened in front of Miss Rutherford's own 12-year-old daughter and infant. In the run up to the assault Miss Rutherford, who works at a primary school in Macclesfield, Cheshire, had berated Silcock's children after they teased her daughter. Joanne Moore, prosecuting, told Cheshire magistrates court: 'The whole incident appeared to have started on a previous date when Silcock's children had been abusive to Miss Rutherford's daughter. They sent her messages and the messages became heated. 'Miss Rutherford, who was with her baby, saw her eldest daughter playing unaccompanied in the park and went to check on her in light of her being abused a few days previously. As she approached her daughter, the teenagers said something and she said 'I will speak to your mum' – but they became abusive.
