As Just Stop Oil eco-zealots attempt to bring London to a standstill for the second day running, one sharp-tongued commuter has hatched an ingenious plan to ship the climate crusaders off to China – the world’s largest polluter. Julian Lavin took to Twitter to share a debate he had with a red-haired Just Stop Oil activist on Highbury corner, in which he puts his idea to the slow-marcher. He says to the orange-vested demonstrator: ‘I’m going to start a crowdfunder for single one-way tickets to China to fly you guys out there, because you ain’t coming back, but the protest you would do would be so powerful, so impactful. You’d make such a difference.’ Earlier in the video the unnamed environmentalist tries to tell Mr Lavin that climate change is a ‘we’ problem and that he should go to China too. The commuter snaps back: ‘No I’m not part of it, you’re the protester – you go there!’ The Just Stop Oil protester confronted Mr Lavin (Image: Jules Lavin / Twitter) The bearded protester retorts: ‘That’s what I’m saying, this is our problem.’ The heated exchange comes as the sustainability-warriors continue their ‘biggest week of action’ to date, with slow marches disrupting commuters across the capital. The activists are blocking roads in five separate locations across the capital, after Just Stop Oil members from all over the country descended on London to kick off the week of protest yesterday. So far the Metropolitan Police has arrested two of the protesters for failing to comply with a Section 12 order, demanding that they leave the road. Following yesterday’s chaos Chief Superintendent Ian Howells said: ‘Today, Met and City of London Police responded to further disruptive action from protest group Just Stop Oil. We received calls to 30 slow march protests in roads across London. ‘Officers responded swiftly to all incidents. Conditions were put in under Section 12 of the Public Order Act, resulting in the majority of protesters clearing the highway shortly after the police arrival.
