Josh Harris and NBA legend Magic Johnson’s proposed takeover of NFL franchise Washington Commanders has taken a huge step forward with the league allowing the sale from highly scrutinised Dan Snyder
An NFL committee has officially approved Billionaire Crystal Palace and Philadelphia 76ers owner Josh Harris and NBA legend Magic Johnson’s £4.6billion ($6.05bn) deal to purchase ownership of the Washington Commanders.
The Washington Post reported that a committee met remotely on Monday with a vote informally which approved the sale from Dan Snyder – bringing an end to his woeful stewardship of the franchise since 1999.
Any remaining legal issues have now reportedly been resolved with the deal now set to be closed in the coming weeks, with a meeting being held in Minnesota on Thursday this week.
The finance committee owners were said to participate in a straw poll with them unanimously endorsing the deal for the new owners to take over.
