 A dog abandoned for several days in the back of a car has been reunited with their owner. Police in Southampton received reports of a suspicious vehicle parked on a street in the Bargate area of the city over the weekend. On arrival on Sunday, officers spotted the terrier laying across the back seat of the suspected stolen car. After a walk at a nearby park, some food, water and lots of love, the dog was at last reunited with the owner. 'The informant also suspected that the vehicle was stolen and had been parked for a number of days. 'Officers quickly attended this vehicle and upon investigation, the dog was seen laying across the back seats. 'After some checks, we managed to contact the owner where two Bargate officers then drove to reunite them. The vehicle was later recovered. 'The dog was given a good walk around the park, fed, given water and received lots of love from the Bargate neighbourhood's team.' Metro.co.uk has contacted Southampton Police for further details.
