 Novak Djokovic has been labelled a 'villain' by former Wimbledon champion Pat Cash. Djokovic was booed during his semi-final win over Jannik Sinner with one spectator screaming 'come on Rafa' in reference to his rival Rafael Nadal. The Serbian responded by sarcastically clapping the crowd and wiping away a fake tear after saving two set points in the third set on his way to victory. Cash won Wimbledon in 1987 and has offered an explanation as to why Djokovic is seen as more of a villain figure than the likes of Roger Federer and Nadal. 'Novak Djokovic has been the villain,' Cash told the BBC. 'It's not because we don't like Novak but Federer, (Andy) Murray and Nadal have been there. 'They were the favourites so he was always the villain. He becomes the villain again because we want to see the new player (Carlos Alcaraz) win. 'I feel sorry for the guy. He's not the villain at all, he is just an outstanding player who tries his best.' Djokovic is looking to win his 24th Grand Slam title as he takes on Carlos Alcaraz in the 136th Wimbledon final. He has not lost on Centre Court for over a decade with 45 straight wins heading into Sunday's Championship match.
