An OceanGate passenger has confessed he has “survivor’s guilt” after a trip to the doomed Titan was cancelled – just a month before the vessel imploded on a venture to the wreck of the Titanic.
Arnie Weissmann, editor-in-chief of Travel Weekly, was invited as a guest on an OceanGate expedition to the Titanic wreckage in May and spent eight days on the Titan’s mothership, Polar Prince.
His two windows of opportunity to visit the wreckage were cancelled due to bad weather – but now the journalist believes he “dodged a bullet” after the vessel suffered a “catastrophic implosion” in June.
“I feel I dodged a bullet with the weather being bad on two instances when I was told we have a dive window,” Mr Weissmann told Insider.
