Women’s Ashes 2023: England vs Australia fixtures, format and TV channel for the final match

Australia lead by two points going into the final one-day match of the multi-format series but the home side can still square the series

Australia have retained the Women’s Ashes after winning the second ODI at the Ageas Bowl on Sunday by three runs to end a run of three defeats. They now take an unassailable 8-6 lead into the seventh match though England could still square the series and take pride from doing so by beating the world champions in the concluding 50-over game at Taunton.

Having set England 283 to win by virtue of Ellyse Perry’s 91 and an astonishing assault by Georgia Wareham that reaped 26 off England final over bowled by Lauren Bell, England held the upper hand for most of their chase.

Tammy Beaumont made 60 before falling to Alana King, one of three victims for the recalled leg-spinner. But it was Nat Sciver-Brunt who took England to the brink, with an unbeaten 111 off 99 balls.

Needing 15 to win off the final over, she managed to glean only 11 after finding a fielder off the last ball when she required four to tie.
