 Damon Albarn reckons 90s pop rivals Oasis are only a matter of time away from announcing a string of comeback shows – and hopefully a new album. The Blur singer and songwriter, 55, was often locked in chart battles with the Manchester band during the infamous 'Battle of Britpop' in 1995. Both bands continued to record during the 2000s, but Oasis split up in 2009 after arguments between bandmates and brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher. Since then, a reunion has been teased on numerous occasions despite the success of both Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and Liam's solo career. In recent months, the release of Noel's latest album Council Skies caused more speculation, with The 1975's Matty Healy even weighing in on Oasis' future. And now one of their oldest nemeses has said he'd already 'put money' on the Some Might Say hitmakers reuniting for their first album since 2008. The road is clear for them to do that now. I think that's great, you know what I mean?' Damon also teased the excitement of Oasis fans by saying that any reunion between the Gallaghers would be 'accompanied' by an 'excellent new record'. His comments came after he'd previously told The Sun he could 'guarantee' that they were going to reform, adding: 'In fact, I've put money on it.' Recently, Noel commented on any potential reunion, saying: 'I've put [an offer to reunite] out there but Liam won't call. He should call me.'
