One of the mum’s close family members does not want her to pick a festive name for her baby, due near Christmas, as he thinks the child is likely to be bullied over it
A concerned brother fears his sister’s child could soon become the target of playground bullies if the expectant mum doesn’t reconsider the festive name she likes.
The excited parent is due to welcome her baby near Christmas, according to her stunned brother. But her sibling doesn’t think the mum should draw on festive spirit when she names her new arrival.
“She and her husband are considering the name Noel for the baby. Normally I wouldn’t have a problem with this, as it’s a family name on his side, but the fact that they’re considering Noel for a baby born around Christmas is way too on the nose,” explained the baby’s uncle.
He added: “Reason I am concerned is I myself am a Christmas baby, and got a lot of flack from other kids growing up about my name. And my name has nothing to do with Christmas or anything that could be construed as being Christmassy. But I’m very much concerned that them doing that would just be unleashing a perfect storm of bullying fodder on the poor kid.”
