It could be a very different Liverpool that lines up to face Chelsea on August 13 in their opening Premier League game, as speculation over key players continues
The summer exodus at Liverpool has suddenly taken twists that not even Jurgen Klopp was banking on.
The German manager had already made his intentions clear in the transfer window, securing the big money signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai. And after their contracts expired, Roberto Firmino, James Milner, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and Naby Keita have all headed the other way and left the club.
But club captain Jordan Henderson is now on the brink of a big money move to Saudi Arabia, having been offered extortionate wages to reunite with Steven Gerrard at Al Ettifaq. Fabinho is also set to be the subject of a £40 million bid from Al-Ittihad, whilst a third Liverpool midfielder, Thiago, has held talks with Galatasaray and is also being monitored by former club Barcelona.
It’s left Reds fans wondering how their team will line-up at Chelsea on the opening weekend of the Premier League season and beyond.
