Footage from the scene shows two police vans parked on a residential street, one from Suffolk County Police and the other from the State Police department, Nassau Police, the local department, are also reportedly on scene. Invetigators and detectives have been scene on what's been described as a very "active" scene. Neighbours are reportedly "shocked" at the scene unfolding in front of their homes. One neighbour said he was shocked to see the police presence in what he described as a normally quiet neighbourhood which he has called home for 30 years. 13 years ago Megan Waterman, a sex worker from Portland, Maine, disappeared in Hauppauge, New York. Her body was found months later alongside three other sex workers on a stretch of highway. The victims became known as The Gilgo Four after being found near Gilgo Beach on the south short of Long Island during a search for 23-year-old Shannan Gilbert, from Ellenville, New York. Shannan had left a panicked 911 call on the night she disappeared, having been seen banging on doors in the gated Oak Beach neighbourhood screaming for help. The search for Shannan helped recover numerous remains in brambles along the Ocean Parkway. According to the Gilgo Case website, there have been 10 people/bodies officially linked to the case, though there are seven more cases believed to be connected.
