Police have reportedly taken a suspect into custody for the series of Long Island murders which became known as the Gilgo Beach murders with the first body discovered in December 2010
Police have arrested a suspect in one of America’s longest running, and most controversial, unsolved serial murders.
Police in Suffolk County, Long Island, reportedly have a suspect in custody in connection with the Gilgo Beach murders. Suffolk and state police have reportedly been seen at the scene on First Avenue in Massapequa Park this morning, July 14.
News12 Long Island have reported the area is “flooded” with police. Footage from the scene shows two police vans parked on a residential street, one from Suffolk County Police and the other from the State Police department, Nassau Police, the local department, are also reportedly on scene.
Invetigators and detectives have been scene on what’s been described as a very “active” scene. Neighbours are reportedly “shocked” at the scene unfolding in front of their homes. One neighbour said he was shocked to see the police presence in what he described as a normally quiet neighbourhood which he has called home for 30 years.
