Police arrived at an address in Massapequa Park, under 30 miles east of New York City. Witnesses report that police were at the scene all night. News 12 Long Island was the first to report the arrest, which follows an investigation described as "one of the most intense, prolific searches for a serial killer ever." The hunt for the serial killer has been ongoing since 2010, when the body of Melissa Barthelemy, 24, was discovered. Within days, more women were found, including Megan Waterman, 22, Amber Lynn Costello, 27, and Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25, with all wrapped in burlap. The remains were found near each other, buried in the marsh at Gilgo Beach. The women had worked as online escorts and were reported missing between the years 2007 and 2010. More to follow...
