For years an unsolved spate of killings has haunted a coastal community.
The mysterious disappearance of a young woman in 2010 and the subsequent search uncovered the remains of 10 people in the Gilgo Beach area, all believed to be victims of a serial killer dubbed the Craigslist Ripper.
The finds shocked the local community and for years there were few answers until police announced this week an arrest had been made.
Rex Heuermann, 59, an architect, was arrested at his home in Massapequa Park.
