New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson concerned some NBA fans by posting lyrics to a song about suicide on his Instagram Story soon after an interview aired about his dietary struggles
Zion Williamson sparked concern from some NBA fans by posting lyrics to The Notorious B.I.G. song Suicidal Thoughts on his Instagram Stories on Thursday night. The New Orleans Pelicans forward recently made public comments about the pressure of fame breaking him down – a theme paralleled in the track.
Williamson, a self-described Biggie fan, left the post up overnight and through Friday afternoon. Fans commented on social media worried about his mental health, though there is no other indication from his representatives that anything is awry.
In the song, Biggie raps, “I’m glad I’m dead, a worthless f***** buddha head / The stress is buildin’ up, I can’t- I can’t believe / Suicide’s on my f***** mind, I wanna leave / I swear to God I feel like death is f***** callin’ me / But nah, you wouldn’t understand.”
The 6-foot-6 star missed extensive time this past season because of a right foot fracture and has faced harsh criticism for his conditioning and dedication to the game. Last week, he suggested the public fault-finding spree is challenging to cope with.
