 Strictly Come Dancing star Karen Hauer has shared that she struggled to leave her bed in the aftermath of her divorce to fellow professional dancer Kevin Clifton. The Venezuelan-American professional Latin dance specialist, 41, is the longest serving female dancer on the BBC series, which she joined in 2012. Over that time, she has been partnered with famous faces including Mark Wright, Jeremy Vine, Jamie Laing and most recently, Jayde Adams. She spent several years working on the show alongside Kevin, 40, whom she'd met while working on a production of Burn the Floor in 2015. The couple married in 2015, however announced they had separated three years later, a break-up Karen has now labelled the 'most difficult' period of her life. Reflecting on that time, Karen has said that she considers herself to be 'structured and disciplined', but that when emotional things happen, 'nothing you do on the outside helps'. She then credited her beloved rescue dog Betty as helping her get through. 'Betty saved my life, pretty much,' she explained when speaking to The Sun. 'Having that unconditional love and having her there to help me actually get up out of bed.' Earlier this year the couple welcomed their daughter Minnie. Last year Karen married Jordan Wyn-Jones.
