 Britney Spears has finally announced her memoir is coming, and it's going to be some seriously essential reading. It's been a long road for the 41-year-old and her fans since she rocketed to fame with Baby One More Time in 1999 at the tender age of 16. Since, the hashtag #FreeBritney has swept the internet, in protest against her 13-year conservatorship which ended in 2021. The complex legal arrangement, started in 2008, had allowed the icon's father Jamie Spears to control her freedom and finances. It came after the Toxic singer's very public mental health breakdown in 2008, in which she famously shaved her head and ended up losing custody of her sons. But while Britney has long been subject to salacious gossip and viral speculation, much isn't known about the last two decades of the singer's life from her perspective. Now, Britney is telling her world-famous story on her 'own terms' when The Woman In Me drops on October 24 – and we can't wait. In anticipation for the release, Britney has taken to social media to explain how she 'worked her ass off' to get her book written, and did some mega soul searching in the process.
