For the second time in three summers, speculation continues to mount over the future of Tottenham talisman Harry Kane, with the striker joining back up with team-mates this week
For once, it is not all about the money. After all, Harry Kane can be assured that he will get a bumper contract wherever he plays.
Tottenham are trying to sign him up to a new deal worth in excess of £300,000-a-week to make him one of the Premier League’s top earners and the biggest in the club’s history. But Kane, who turns 30 later this month, would be guaranteed even more money somewhere else if he was to sit tight, see out the remaining 12 months on his current deal and move on a free transfer next summer.
âManchester United, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and the rest would happily sign him up – and give him a huge deal. But this is about whether Tottenham can actually persuade Kane to stay with the vision of Ange Postecoglou because there remains a belief at the club that the England captain wants to stay.
âHis dream would be to stay at Tottenham, break the Premier League goal record and, more importantly, win the silverware to go with his own personal success and Golden Boot trophies.
