 Reneé Rapp is officially departing Max's The Sex Lives of College Girls midway through season 3. The 23-year-old American actress, who plays wealthy lesbian student Leighton in the series from Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble confirmed news of her exit in a statement saying the role had changed her life. Her character, who hails from New York and is trying to live up to her mother's high expectations, is one of four 18-year-old college roommates trying to explore their sexualities alongside the struggles and hardships of university and adulthood. Addressing her exit, Reneé said: 'College girls moved me out to LA and introduced me to some of my favourite people. 2 and a half years later – it's given me ya'll and this community. 'Thank u Mindy, Justin, and everyone at Max for believing in me. A lot of queer work gets belittled – but playing Leighton has changed my life. (sic) According to Deadline, Reneé will appear in a handful of episodes in the upcoming instalment, but will not serve as a main role beyond that.
