BBC boss to face questions over presenter scandal

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

The head of BBC is set to be questioned today regarding the allegations a presenter paid £35,000 for explicit photos of a teenager.

The broadcaster suspended the male TV star after reports he paid the unknown person the substantial figure over the course of three years, starting from when they were aged 17.

Now, Director-general Tim Davie CBE is due to face the media for a scheduled briefing after the release of the corporation’s annual report at noon.

The report, planned before the allegations came out in The Sun, is an assessment of the BBC’s performance over the last 12 months. It typically reveals the pay of the corporation’s biggest earners. Davie, 56, is expected to answer questions regarding pay packets, but the controversy is likely going to dominate the agenda.
