Half of Scots believe Humza Yousaf is doing a bad job, poll shows

Survey coinciding with First Minister’s first 100 days finds fewer than a fifth of voters think he is performing well in key areas

Humza Yousaf has failed to convince Scots that he is up to the job of running Scotland, a new poll has revealed.

Overall, half of Scots believe the First Minister is doing a bad job, with 23 per cent believing he is performing well.

The YouGov survey, timed to coincide with Mr Yousaf’s first 100 days in office, found fewer than a fifth of voters believe he is performing well in key areas such as the economy, the NHS and the cost of living crisis.

On the cost of living, 15 per cent believed Mr Yousaf had done well, compared to 60 per cent who believed the opposite. Some 17 per cent approved of his stewardship of the economy, while 55 per cent did not. Eighteen per cent believed he had done a good job on healthcare, compared to 56 per cent who did not.
