Eurovision 2024 goes to Malmo: Has the Swedish city hosted before?

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

It’s only a matter of weeks since Liverpool played host to Eurovision 2023, delivering a spectacular contest which saw Sweden’s Loreen nab a historic second victory – this time with her dance track Tattoo.

All of which means Sweden gets the joy of hosting the event in 2024, and even though there’s still 10 months to go until we get to immerse ourselves in the Eurovision bubble once again, they’ve already named their host city.

Yes folks, we’re off to Malmo for next year’s contest – which will take place at the Malmo Arena on Saturday May 11, with the semi-finals being held on Tuesday May 7 and Thursday May 9.

It’s not the first time that Malmo – which fought off competition from Gothenberg, Ornskoldsvik and the capital, Stockholm to take the honour – has played host to the show.
