Lewis Hamilton’s current contract with Mercedes expires at the end of the Formula One season, but he and team principal Toto Wolff are adamant that a new deal is coming
Lewis Hamilton says he believes he can race in Formula One for another five years and insists that a new Mercedes contract is just around the corner.
Hamilton’s current deal expires at the end of the season and there has been continued speculation about the negotiations to extend his stay with Mercedes. Throughout the period Hamilton and Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff have been steadfast in their stance that there was nothing to worry about and things would be ironed out soon.
Speaking at the Austrian Grand Prix last weekend, Wolff said : “I’m still very confident [of striking a deal]. They want to do it super, to every detail and sometimes you can have a situation where everything is carved out.
