Yitzian Torres Garcia was shot in the head by a stray bullet as a dispute was ongoing nearby during the 4th of July fireworks in Tampa, Florida
A seven-year-old boy has been hit and killed by a stray bullet during an argument between two groups.
Yitzian Torres Garcia was struck when he was watching the Fourth of July fireworks when gunfire erupted nearby along the Courtney Campbell Causeway in Tampa, Florida.
His grandfather, Juan Carlos Hernandez, who was with him, in an attempt to protect his grandson, pulled him into his pickup truck and shielded him. But sadly a bullet penetrated the truck, injuring the grandfather’s hand and fatally striking the child in the head.
The argument that led to the shooting was reportedly about the proximity of one group’s jet skis to the other. The Tampa Police Department expressed anger and frustration during a press conference, emphasising the need for those responsible to surrender.
