In the midst of summer event season – parties, weddings, race days, outdoor opera and big sporting whatevers – the temperature is edging back up to swelter. And so it might seem counterintuitive that the dress of the summer isn’t picnic-cloth gingham, country garden floral or boho-embroidered, but the antithesis to all that. It’s an SBD, the summer black dress.
