Scotland v Argentina: Jack Dempsey makes first start in place of injured Hamish Watson

Jack Dempsey, the Glasgow Warriors forward who won 14 caps for Australia between 2017 and 2019, will make his first start for Scotland against Argentina at Murrayfield on Saturday. The 28-year-old has already made three appearances off the bench for Scotland after taking advantage of new eligibility rules last month.

Dempsey tales the place off Hamish Watson, who suffered concussion in last weekend’s loss to New Zealand. The only other change to the starting line-up sees Jonny Gray take over in the second row from his elder brother Richie, who is serving a three-week ban for dangerous play against the All Blacks.

However, Gregor Townsend has made a number of changes on the bench. Edinburgh’s Glen Young fills the slot vacated by Jonny Gray, while
