Mr Conde passed away first, and the child was not able to obtain any nourishment (Image: Facebook)A two-year-old boy was found to have starved to death after his dad died of a heart attack in their apartment – leaving him trapped and alone.Little David Conde Jr was discovered in the same room as his father, David Conde, 59, after they were reported missing after not being seen for weeks.In an obituary, David Jr is described as ‘a beautiful baby boy with curly locks, a determined smile and sweet disposition’. He is also said to have been born with an undisclosed medical condition which he overcame to learn how to walk.The cause of their deaths has now been determined – with investigators finding Mr Conde died as a result of cardiovascular disease.David Jr died of starvation some time later but this was ruled to be an accidentThe pair lived together in Geneva, a city in upstate New York. They were last seen on January 22, investigators said, and discovered by police on February 15.Mr Conde was found on the bed while the youngster was discovered near the bed.Upon finding them, police told reporters they could not find an obvious cause of death and there was no visible evidence of trauma on their bodies.”It is believed that Mr Conde passed away first, and the child was not able to obtain any nourishment after his father passed,” Ontario County Sheriff’s Office has since confirmed.READ MORE: China grapples with unrest as residents erupt against lockdownAuthorities said they deemed the apartment to be clean and well-kept, and there was food and clothes for the child.Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione said: “There were no signs of a struggle in the residence.’We do not have any reason to believe anybody else was in the apartment when these two passed away.’The investigation into their deaths has been officially closed, deputies said on Monday. The father and son were found dead in their apartment in February (Image: Google)A memorial was held for the young boy on March 16, 2022.David Jr has six brothers, according to an obituary on Legacy.com, and is survived by his mother and maternal grandmother.The obituary says: “David was born in Rochester on October 29, 2019, a beautiful baby boy with curly locks, that had a determined smile and sweet disposition.”Despite his medical condition at birth, he had recently learned to walk, following many surgeries and months of casts and rehabilitation.”
