Dustin Poirier admits he bit rival Michael Chandler’s fingers in brutal fight

Poirier defeated Chandler in their UFC 281 pay-per-view clash in New York by choking out his lightweight rival, and during the brutal fight ‘The Diamond’ sank his teeth into his opponent

Dustin Poirier has admitted he “bit the s***” out of Michael Chandler during his UFC victory after accusing Chandler of putting his fingers in his mouth.

Poirier and Chandler met at UFC 281 last weekend in a back-and-forth bout which could have gone either way. BUt it was ‘The Diamond’ who came out on top after choking out his opponent in the third round during his second submission attempt of the contest.

After the contest, Poirier immediately accused his opponent of cheating in the contest by putting his fingers in his mouth when the pair were grappling. And the lightweight contender has admitted he responded by biting Chandler, who insists his manoeuvre was entirely accidental.

“It doesn’t hurt but the leverage you get on that grip, you know, he had his fingers on my top teeth where my mouth guard is so he kind of pulled, tried to get my neck up to lock in the choke,” Poirier said on the MMA Hour when discussing the accusations in the aftermath of his latest win. “It’s a lot of that. The leverage you get from gripping, that is hard for me to keep my chin down.
