Man Utd take down mural featuring Cristiano Ronaldo outside Old Trafford

Cristiano Ronaldo’s face was removed from the side of Old Trafford on Wednesday in what many thought was Manchester United’s way of responding to his tell-all interview with Piers Morgan

Manchester United have decided to remove a mural that features Cristiano Ronaldo on the day of his explosive, tell-all interview with Piers Morgan.

The Red Devils’ forward has endured a torrid time of it this season and in turn has vented his fury on Piers Morgan Uncensored, taking aim at everyone from manager Erik ten Hag to former team-mate Wayne Rooney. It is most likely the comments Ronaldo made about the boss that has made it very likely he has played his last game in a United shirt.

Some may think it is also the reason why United officials would deem it no longer appropriate to have his face on the side of Old Trafford and remove it, but that is not actually the case. Cranes were spotted taking down the mural on Wednesday afternoon, just hours before his bombshell discussion with Morgan goes to air.

In actual fact, the mural was always scheduled to be taken down on Wednesday due to Old Trafford hosting the final of men’s and women’s Rugby League World Cup on Saturday.
