A motorist has appeared in court after allegedly stealing a JCB digger and smashing it into a house and two cars before being arrested at a McDonalds drive-thru.
Mark Holmes, 55, is accused of drunkenly ramming the digger into a silver Ford Focus and a blue Ford Fiesta in a driveway outside the home in Blackwood, Gwent in south Wales.
Holmes, of Penybryn, Caerphilly, appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court facing a string of charges following the spree of destruction on November 9.
He has been accused of causing criminal damage, assault occasioning actual bodily harm against a woman, dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking and drink driving with 60 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
