Arsenal, Chelsea stadiums snubbed as UK names 14 Euro 2028 host venues

Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium and Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge were among high-profile absentees as the UK and Ireland submitted their bid to host Euro 2028 on Wednesday. But the Emirates, Stamford Bridge and Liverpool’s iconic home, Anfield, won’t feature at the tournament.Instead, Everton supporters will enjoy bragging rights over their bitter Merseyside rivals, with their new stadium, currently in construction, selected instead. The state-of-the-art Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is also included, as is its north London neighbour, Wembley Stadium, which hosted the Euro 2020 final between England and Italy.Villa Park, the London Stadium, the Etihad Stadium, St. James’ Park, the Stadium of Light, Old Trafford, the Aviva Arena, Croke Park, the Casement Park Stadium, Hampden Park and the Principality Stadium make up the shortlist.JUST IN: Cristiano Ronaldo had to make humiliating ‘request’ after Man Utd ban The Emirates Stadium won’t be hosting Euro 2028.
