Tommy Fury and Paul Bamba’s fight was cancelled (Image: YouTube: Seconds Out)Promoters Global Titans have released a statement regarding accusations made by Paul Bamba that he received a separate contract from Tommy Fury for their fight. The Puerto-Rican boxer leaked a photo of his contract that disclosed that neither man could weigh-in over the light-heavyweight limit (175lb) while TNT claims he was allowed greater leeway in his paperwork.Fury weighed in 6.8lb over the light-heavyweight limit leading Bamba to approach the promotional outfit for an improved deal as is commonplace when an opponent misses weight – which the Brit did according to Bamba’s deal. The two parties were unable to come to an agreement and the fight was then cancelled. In Bamba’s place, Cameroonian professional boxer Rolly Lambert was brought in to face Fury in a six-round exhibition bout while Bamba claims he was kicked out of the hotel and didn’t receive his purse despite making his contracted weight.Attempting to clear up the situation, Global Titans sent out a press release, reading: “Global Titans would like to thank Tommy Fury and his team for their participation in his exhibition bout at the Coca-Cola Arena on Sunday in Dubai. We would also like to place on record that, despite multiple incorrect claims, Tommy made his contracted weight and was paid his purse in full.”We also thank Tommy for making every effort to try and ensure his original scheduled fight took place. The contractual weight issues between both contracts were no fault of Tommy or Paul [Bamba], the matter is now being dealt with internally.”We look forward to working with Tommy and his team in the future.”MORE BOXING NEWS…Usyk promoter bites back at roadblock threatening to derail Fury fightUsyk UK fight plans disclosed ahead of blockbuster Fury showdownWarren responds to Paul deadline and drops other date for Fury bout Tommy Fury is 8-0 as a pro boxer (Image: GETTY)Bamba has since come out and offered to face Tommy in the United Kingdom next year.
