Eden Hazard has given Newcastle United hope in their reported pursuit of the Premier League icon by admitting he could leave Real Madrid in the summer. The 31-year-old winger’s contract at the Santiago Bernabeu expires in 2024, but he could cut his nightmare spell in Spain short and return to the English top-flight.Hazard registered 110 goals and 92 assists in 352 Chelsea appearances, lifting two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and a League Cup at Stamford Bridge. He was also named the Premier League Player of the Season in 2014/15, establishing himself as one of the country’s greatest-ever imports. However, he hasn’t been able to replicate his numbers at Real, scoring just seven times in 72 games since joining in a £130million deal in 2019. And Hazard has claimed that while a January exit is off the cards, he could leave the 14-time Champions League winners next summer. He told Marca: “I won’t leave Real Madrid in January, impossible. But it could be possible in the summer. It’s up to the club: if they want me to leave, I will accept it. I’m still focused on Real Madrid – I want to play football at Real Madrid.”JUST IN: Arsenal, Chelsea stadiums snubbed as UK names 14 Euro 2028 host venues Newcastle transfer news: Eddie Howe could bring Eden Hazard back to the Premier League.
