He added: 'I will co-operate fully and respect whatever outcome you decide'. The Deputy PM's letter appears to be an attempt to head off criticism he would face two hours later from his Labour rival Angela Rayner at PMQs, where he is standing in for Rishi Sunak. He said: 'I have never tolerated bullying and always sought to reinforce and empower the teams of civil servants working in my respective departments.' But asking for an investigation raises the prospect that he will be sacked if he is found to have broken the Ministerial Code. A previous minister, Priti Patel, was found to have broken the Code over bullying claims but Boris Johnson overturned the finding and decided to keep her as Home Secretary. Sources close to Mr Raab could not say who he expected to lead the investigation, but it is likely to be the independent advisor on ministerial interests. There has not been an advisor in place since June after the last one left in protest under Boris Johnson. Rishi Sunak has promised to appoint a replacement shortly, but not given any deadline for when they will be in place. In his letter to the Prime Minister, Justice Secretary Dominic Raab wrote: "When you entered No 10 Downing Street, on 25th October, you rightly stated that 'this Government will have integrity, professionalism and accountability at every level'.
