Rishi Sunak has agreed to allow thousands of Indians to come and work in the UK as he attempts to revive talks on a trade deal.

It had been hoped the two countries would have signed a trade deal by Diwali last month, but negotiations have slowed following a disagreement over visas.
Mr Sunak last night stressed that he “wouldn’t sacrifice quality for speed ” in the latest indication a deal may not be signed soon.
