Man Utd star Antony hints at future dream transfer and names 3 idols

Manchester United winger Antony has hinted at a future dream transfer while discussing the football icons he grew up watching in his Sao Paulo favela, ‘Inferninho’. The 22-year-old has opened up on his journey from growing up in ‘little hell’ to playing in the Champions League to lighting up the Theatre of Dreams pitch.For Antony, his £85million summer switch to United would’ve been made all the more surreal by the fact one of his childhood idols, Cristiano Ronaldo, was there to greet him. And he has named his Brazilian compatriots, Neymar and Ronaldinho, as two more stars he moulded his game around.Antony would steal his neighbour’s WiFi to watch clips of the duo, with Neymar likely thriving in his four-year stint at Barcelona at the time. And given Ronaldinho’s legacy at the Nou Camp, the United No 21 likely grew up dreaming of a move to Barca to follow in the footsteps of his heroes.He wrote on The Player’s Tribune: “I learned all the tricks from the legends. Ronaldinho, Neymar, Cristiano [Ronaldo]. I used to watch them on YouTube, thanks to my ‘uncle’ Toniolo. He is not my blood uncle. He was our next-door neighbour. But he treated me like family. And he labelled the 30-year-old a ‘God’, admitting he tried to replicate his play style in his favela.”If you think I’m just a clown, then you don’t understand my story,” Antony added. “The art of Ronaldinho and Cristiano and Neymar inspired me as a child. I watched these Gods in amazement on stolen WiFi.
