Amazon rivals Spotify with free music streaming until next year

Amazon is currently offering three months worth of Music Unlimited for free (Image: AMAZON GETTY)In the run-up to Black Friday, Amazon has launched two free bonuses for anyone interested in trying one of the alternatives to Spotify and Apple Music. For a limited time only Amazon is offering three months access to its flagship Music Unlimited service entirely for free. This platform – which lets you access a humongous library of 100million songs – is usually priced at £9.99 a month, meaning the freebie available will save you almost £30.Amazon usually only offers one month of free trials to Music Unlimited, so if you’ve been thinking of trying out this service for a while, now is the perfect time to do so.If that wasn’t enough, Amazon has also expanded its Amazon Music app, which is available as part of a Prime membership. Previously, this Prime perk only let users access a library of two million songs. Now, it will let Prime members access all of the 100million songs available with Music Unlimited – but only in shuffle mode.Speaking about this great new update Steve Boom, the VP of Amazon Music, said: “When Amazon Music first launched for Prime members, we offered an ad-free catalogue of two million songs, which was completely unique for music streaming at the time.”We continue to innovate on behalf of our customers, and to bring even more entertainment to Prime members, on top of the convenience and value they already enjoy.” The Amazon Music Unlimited free deal is available until next year (Image: AMAZON)If you don’t want to have to shuffle through an album, artist or playlist then you’ll need to pick up an Amazon Music Unlimited subscription.Music Unlimited is a direct rival to Apple Music and Spotify, and it has a big advantage over the latter.Unlike Spotify, the entire Music Unlimited library is available in lossless (aka CD quality) streaming, which Amazon dubs HD audio. While over seven million songs are available in Ultra HD (which is better than lossless).Music Unlimited also includes exclusive remastered albums in Ultra HD audio, curated HD and Ultra HD playlists, as well as the most ad-free top podcasts, and the ability to listen offline along with unlimited skips. Amazon has also released a huge update for its Music Prime perk (Image: AMAZON)The Amazon Music Unlimited three months free deal is available until January 11, 2023 and it is only available for new customers. So if you’re already subscribed to Music Unlimited or have taken advantage of a free trial before you won’t be able to bag this latest freebie.Anyone that signs up for this deal needs to be aware that auto-renew will be applied by default, so if you don’t want to continue using Music Unlimited after your free trial is over make sure you cancel before then.Music Unlimited is priced at £9.99 if you’re not a Prime member or £8.99 a month if you are with Prime.
