Blur announce special comeback show

Blur has made the triumphant announcement of their comeback to the stage for the first time since 2015. The band rose to fame in the 1990s by penning such iconic tracks as Parklife, Song 2, Girls & Boys, Charmless Man and many more. They last released an album in 2015, titled The Magic Whip. Since then, all has gone quiet. But this summer, they’re breaking their silence and hitting London’s Wembley Stadium for one special night.Tickets for Blur’s one-off show at Wembley Stadium go on sale Friday, November 18, 2022, at 10am.Information on presale tickets has not yet been released, but Express.co.uk will update this article when news drops about how to get tickets early. The gig will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, and the band are excited to jump back on stage to play their iconic songs. A nice guitar and an amp turned right up and loads of smiling faces…””After the chaos of the last few years,” Rowntree said, referring to the COVID-19 pandemic. “It’s great to get back out to play some songs together on a summer’s day in London. Hope to see you there.”This event is made even more special due to the fact it will be their first-ever Wembley Stadium show.Blur’s comeback is not a complete surprise, considering Albarn briefly mentioned the band’s plans last year.Albarn told NME he and the band had “a chat recently,” before adding: “But we haven’t progressed further than that… we did have an idea though, I’ve just been a bit busy at the moment obviously. When it happens, I’ll be made up.”He also told Metro: “I am just about to have a conversation with people about Blur and I would love to sing all those songs again. I miss the songs. I miss playing with Blur … [It’s] not something I would do just for the sake of it. There has to be a really good reason to do it all again and then I will wholeheartedly engage with it.”This news follows reports that a reunion “tour” was happening earlier this year.A source told The Sun in August: “Britpop fans will want to shout this from the rooftop – Blur are back. The lads have been talking about this for a while and now it is becoming a reality.”The source went on to point out that this gig will coincide with 30th anniversary of their second album, Modern Life Is Rubbish. The gold-certified record hit store shelves on May 10, 1993.Get your Blur tickets here.
