Jonnie Irwin’s devastating moment he told wife ‘she was on her own’

Jonnie Irwin, 48, has been told he has six months to live following his terminal lung cancer diagnosis, leaving his wife Jessica, 40, with their three small children. The A Place in the Sun presenter has recalled the moment he had to tell his wife she was looking after their babies “on her own pretty much”. That was devastating.Jonnie IrwinJonnie was in Italy in August 2020 while filming for A Place in the Sun, when he first showed signs of the disease.Tests soon revealed that he had lung cancer which had spread to his brain, leaving him to have the “devastating” conversation with his wife.Jonnie recalled: “Within a week of flying back from filming, I was being given six months to live.”I had to go home and tell my wife, who was looking after our babies, that she was on her own pretty much.
