Erik ten Hag’s strict orders to Man Utd board during Ronaldo meeting

Erik ten Hag has reportedly told the higher powers at Manchester United that Cristiano Ronaldo should not play for the club again. The Dutchman is unhappy with the forward after he publicly accused the manager of forcing him out of the door in an interview with Piers Morgan.Ronaldo pushed to leave United over the summer but was unable to have an exit greenlighted by the club. His agent, Jorge Mendes, sounded out his clients unhappiness with potential suitors, though no concrete offers arrived from European sides.Though the 37-year-old will now be allowed to leave if Ten Hag is able to convince the club that the forward is a hindrance rather than a key asset. According to ESPN, in an emergency meeting held to address Ronaldo’s interview, Ten Hag revealed that he does not believe the player should pull on the United shirt ever again.The manager met with co-chairman Joel Glazer, chief executive Richard Arnold and football director John Murtough to discuss the potential resolutions to Ronaldo’s explosive interview with Morgan. Ten Hag revealed in talks that he felt that his No 7 went ‘too far’ and that he had overstepped the mark with comments about the progress of the club and management.Clips released on Monday night also saw Ronaldo accuse the club of denying that his daughter was unwell in pre-season, which he explained was the reason why he was not present for the tour.
