Gary Neville tweets three-word reply to Ronaldo after being savaged

Cristiano Ronaldo: The Man Utd star hit out at Gary Neville (Image: Youtube/Piers Morga/Getty)Gary Neville has responded with a sarcastic reply to Cristiano Ronaldo after being savaged by the Manchester United star in the latest comments from his controversial interview. The Portuguese superstar has continued lashing out at former club figures and pundits, with Neville his latest target after the former team-mates’ bitter fallout in recent months, and the former United defender has now had his say.Ronaldo appeared to take exception to Neville’s remarks shortly after he rejoined United in August 2021 that he should not have returned to Old Trafford and insisted that his time would be cut short. The Portuguese star since claimed that Neville uses his name to make himself more famous and spoke at length about their fallout.”We’re not ever having dinner together,” he told Piers Morgan’s Uncensored show. “To listen as ex-colleagues or team-mates criticise you, when they only see one point of view. It’s easy, it’s easy to criticise, I don’t know if you have a job in television that they must criticise to be more famous.”I really don’t understand it. It’s hard when you see people who was in the dressing room with you criticising that way.” Cristiano Ronaldo: The Man Utd star looks set to leave in January (Image: Getty)It did not take Neville long to find a response, tweeting only three words to his 5.4million followers after hearing Ronaldo’s latest outburst. And the 45-year-old’s comments could well trigger another response from Ronaldo as he mocked the five-time Ballon d’or winner’s outburst. The Sky Sports pundit tweeted from his official account: “Anyone for dinner?” early on Tuesday morning. We’ll be bringing you the very latest updates, pictures and video on this breaking news story. For the latest news and breaking news visit: express.co.uk/sport/footballStay up to date with all the big headlines, pictures, analysis, opinion and video on the stories that matter to you.Follow us on Twitter @dexpress_sport – the official Daily Express & Express.co.uk Twitter account – providing real news in real time. We’re also on Facebook @dailyexpresssport – offering your must-see news, features, videos and pictures throughout the day to like, comment and share from the Daily Express, Sunday Express and Express.co.uk.
