Johnny Depp berated ‘awkward’ Pirates of the Caribbean scene

Johnny Depp’s fame exploded when he took on the iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie. But behind the scenes of the sequel, 2006’s Dead Man’s Chest, there was one particular moment that left Depp extremely uncomfortable. The awkward sequence came when Depp’s character, Jack Sparrow, was kissed by Keira Knightley’s character, Elizabeth Swann. The actor, who is 22-years-older than Knightley, confessed the moment left him feeling uneasy. And it was all because of how young the British actress was at the time.He later said: “Any kind of scene like that whenever you’re doing that sort of thing, it’s always unbelievably awkward, especially having met Keira when she was 17 years old.”During the filming of Dead Man’s Chest, Keira was 21-years-old, while Depp was 42-years-old. Still, he found a way to struggle through the scene.
