Turkey security threatens to strike US for planning bomb attack

Turkey’s top security official said his country would strike back against the US after accusing Washington of being the real perpetrator behind Sunday’s deadly terror attack in Istanbul. Nobody has so far claimed responsibility for what Turkey has condemned as a terrorist attack on Istiklal Avenue, a popular shopping street in Istanbul. The Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and its armed wing Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) – militant political organisations that Ankara designate as terrorist organisations – both said they played no part in the blast on a busy pedestrian avenue in Turkey’s largest city.Speaking in the vicinity of the terrorist attack, Turkey’s Interior Minister and top security official told Turkish broadcaster Canlı TV: “We know how this terror attack was coordinated and from where. “We know that the message that was sent to us [via Sunday’s terror attack] and got this message.”I emphasise again. We do not accept the American Embassy’s condolences, we reject it. “Our alliance with this state [United States] must be of course questioned. This is crystal clear.” Suleyman Soylu accused the US of being behind Sunday’s bomb attack in Istanbul (Image: TWITTER/@abdbozkurt GETTY) Süleyman Soylu said Turkey would strike back the US after Sunday’s deadly terrorist attack (Image: TWITTER/@abdbozkurt)Süleyman Soylu said: “I would like to say that we no longer have the strength to endure this [American] treachery.”Whoever is supporting the PYD (terrorist organisation in the eyes of Turkish President Erdogan and backed by the USA) here, whoever is trying to provide intelligence to the PKK (Armed Kurdish Groups) is the real perpetrator [of this terror attack]. “There’s no point in discussing pawns. “We want this to be known: We will send a very strong message to the message we receive, and a very powerful one indeed.”READ MORE: Tragic girl, 6, is tiniest victim of Istanbul terror attack Sunday’s deadly blast killed at least six people and injured dozens more (Image: TWITTER/@whitenigerian) The Istanbul Police said videos from around 1,200 CCTV cameras have been reviewed and raids carried (Image: TWITTER/@guyelster)#Turkey’s top security official Suleyman Soylu publicly threatened to strike back the US after accusing Washington of being the real perpetrator behind Sunday’s deadly terror attack in Istanbul. You can fight terrorism in the mountains, beyond your borders, and in your cities and can prevent many acts of terrorism. If you miss preventing one, you pay a great price.”We know we are facing a great ordeal in our immediate vicinity. Nobody lives close to Kobani and Qamishli,” he said, referring to Syrian towns controlled by PKK/YPG. “This year alone, we prevented about 200 acts of terrorism and they would likely have had more dire consequences if they were not prevented,” he also said.”We will still continue our struggle to the end, regardless of its price. I believe the support of our so-called allies to terrorists, by hiding them in their countries or giving them a lifeline in the areas they occupied, funding them through decisions of their senate is obvious, this is blatant insincerity,” he said. The Instanbul Police said videos from around 1,200 CCTV cameras have been reviewed and raids carried out at 21 locations after Sunday’s explosion in Instanbul that killed at least six people and wounded dozens more. At least 46 people have been arrested, including what police claim is a “special intelligence officer” of the outlawed PKK. DON’T MISS:Turkey travel advice updated after explosion in Istanbul [REPORT]      Istanbul bomb explosion leaves several dead and at least 53 injured [REPORT]      UK can help tackle Europe’s energy shortage by resolving Cyprus crisis [REPORT]       Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said the perpetrators would be punished (Image: GETTY)Immediately after the attack, Kurdish groups – PKK and SDF – denied involvement in the attack after Turkey accused the Syrian Kurdish YPG militia (YPG), the backbone of the US-backed SDF, of responsibility for the blast.Turkish police said the suspect told them during her interrogation that she had been trained as a “special intelligence officer” by the outlawed PKK, as well as the Syrian Kurdish group the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and its armed wing (YPG). President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said the perpetrators would be punished.
