Cristiano Ronaldo has almost certainly played his last match for Manchester United after burning bridges with an explosive interview, and Erik ten Hag already has his eyes on Kylian Mbappe
Manchester United have accelerated their plans to replace Cristiano Ronaldo – with France superstar Kylian Mbappe having emerged as a shock target.
United will jettison Ronaldo following his bombshell interview in which he savaged the club, accusing them of betrayal and trying to force him out, as well as admitting he has no respect for boss Erik ten Hag.
Although United were already looking at strikers, their plan was to move for a new forward next summer, when Ronaldo’s contract is up and when it is more feasible to sign the targets they have identified.
But the 37-year-old’s explosive interview has ultimately brought a premature end to his second spell at Old Trafford, with United having decided to bring forward their plans to sign a new striker.
