Margot Robbie has announced that her female-led Pirates of the Caribbean movie has been scrapped by Disney, claiming: ‘I guess they don’t want to do it.’
Announcements made in June 2020 listed the actress as the leading lady for the project that would be written by Birds of Prey screenwriter, Christina Hodson.
However, it seems progress on the spin-off has stalled dashing hopes of fans everywhere.
The 32-year-old revealed: ‘We had an idea and we were developing it for a while, ages ago, to have more of a female-led – not totally female-led, but just a different kind of story – which we thought would’ve been really cool.’
