NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
A former police officer claimed a colleague farting and ‘waving the odour towards him’ was part of discrimination he faced at work.
Mohammed Afzal said he was ‘constantly treated as lesser than his white Caucasian counterparts’ and faced ‘bias and prejudice’ for being Asian and gay.
On top of the alleged farting incident, he claimed the force made his life ‘miserable and hostile’, was ‘belittled’ and shouted at, and allegedly told he ‘smelt like garlic’.
He also alleged his colleagues told him: ‘You should resign.’ But an employment tribunal threw out these accusations this week.
