Police have arrested the allegedly “armed and dangerous” University of Virginia student Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. following a fatal school bus shooting on Sunday evening in Charlottesville
A student accused of gunning down and killed three members of his former football team at the University of Virgina has been taken into custody following a 13-hour manhunt.
Authorities confirmed Christopher Darnell Jones Jr, 22, was apprehended after he allegedly shot fellow students in a bus as they returned form a school field trip on Sunday evening in Charlottesville.
University President Jim Ryan and law enforcement officials were in the middle of a late morning news conference when news of his arrest was revealed.
Two other students were wounded in the shooting late Sunday night, which happened near a campus parking garage as a charter bus full of students returned from seeing a play in Washington, D.C., for a class field trip.
