Lake Placid has nabbed the top spot in a ranking of the most Instagram -worthy winter wonderlands worldwide.
The village is situated in the Adirondack Mountains in Essex County, New York, and has a population of just over 2,000.
It’s exactly its size and quaint feel – as well as the stunning Whiteface Mountain and views across the lake – which make Lake Placid a big draw for those festive fans living in the big city.
