Jude Bellingham remains Liverpool’s top target (Image: GETTY)Liverpool may well have a bargaining chip in trying to prise Jude Bellingham away from Borussia Dortmund with the Bundesliga side supposedly interested in signing Tyler Morton. The battle for Bellingham’s signature is expected to heat up in the New Year with Liverpool set to face-to-face competition from Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United among others.Bellingham has stayed quiet on his future and what he hopes for but Dortmund won’t sell cheap with the midfielder set to fetch a fee in excess of £100million. That would smash Liverpool’s record transfer fee with club owners FSG not being able to match the spending powers of their European rivals in recent years. But the Liverpool owners have also proven in the past that they’re willing to spend big for a talent who can change the club’s fortunes. Midfield is set to be an area Jurgen Klopp targets for reinforcements next year with Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner out of contract at the end of the season.Bellingham is seen as the ideal target to revolutionise Klopp’s options in midfield, where both Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson are also 31 and 32 years old respectively. And Liverpool may have a chance to bring Dortmund’s asking price down with their supposed interest in Morton.JUST IN: Liverpool given 18-man advantage over Man Utd, Chelsea, other rivals Tyler Morton is attracting interest from Borussia Dortmund (Image: GETTY)According to The Sun, Dortmund’s ‘English spy’ Daniel Dodds is keeping an eye on Morton’s progress while on loan at Blackburn. The 20-year-old is tipped for a bright future at Anfield and has played a key role for Blackburn in their push for promotion from the Championship.Morton was handed his first Premier League start for Liverpool last season in the eventful 2-2 draw with Tottenham and also played the full 90 minutes twice in Champions League fixtures against Porto and AC Milan. But his performances for Blackburn are catching Dortmund’s attention, who have a strong track record of signing young English players and turning them into world class players. And it’s suggested in the same report that Morton could be used in a deal for Bellingham to head the other way to Merseyside. Any deal that would see Morton permanently leave Anfield would bring Bellingham’s price tag down.DON’T MISSLiverpool get Endrick transfer lifeline as Real Madrid eye PrestianniLiverpool takeover eyed by world’s eighth richest personSouthgate’s Bellingham story shows why he’d be perfect for Liverpool
