Lawyers continue to appeal the innocence of death row inmate Richard Glossip, but a court denied their request for an evidentiary hearing. Richard Glossip’s team say the state destroyed important evidence
Attorneys for death row inmate Richard Glossip were dealt a blow in t he quest to prove his innocence earlier this week.
Glossip’s team had requested the Court of Criminal Appeals for a new evidentiary hearing and say the state destroyed important evidence, that he is intellectually challenged and that his trial attorneys were not up to scratch.
“The evidence he proffers to support this theory consists of affidavits from jailhouse informers, drug dealers, exotic dancers and residents of the Best Budget Inn,” the court wrote, rejecting the requests.
“These affidavits do not provide the clear and convincing evidence that Glossip would like this court to believe.”
