Police officer, 27, charged with attempted murder after woman rushed to hospital

A SERVING police officer has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was rushed to hospital from a city centre hotel.

Emergency crews were scrambled to Manchester at around 11.30pm on Thursday over concerns for the woman’s welfare.

She was taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

James Riley, 27, has now been charged with attempted murder.

The serving Lancashire Police officer has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester Crown Court tomorrow.
